The Adidas Tricolor is the official match ball of the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
The triangle ball was the first colored ball of the world championship. The Adidas Tricolor used a synthetic foam layer with a regular array of gas-filled durable micro-cells. This structure provides durability and good tactile communication with the ball. For the first time since 1970, when the World Cup ball was not made in Europe: the Adidas Tricolor was made in Morocco.
The French flag and the tail of a rooster, the traditional symbol of France and the French Football Federation, are reflected in the title and design of the triangular ball.
